The Humata approach blends ancient eastern wisdom with western knowledge of anatomy and neurology to create a holistic model of health. The intricate relationship between our thoughts, emotions and physical body shapes us. Yoga and positive psychology are known to support mind-body integration, helping us to lead happier and healthier lives.
I have a background in social care, providing therapeutic and educational support for adults, children and families in difficulty. Personal development became my motivation and I qualified as a coach and mentor so that I could work with people at a deeper level, nurturing resilience and empowerment.
I have also been a dedicated yoga student for over 30 years practising classic asanas, pranayama and meditation. Inspired by my lived experience of the power of yoga to help us survive and thrive, I decided to become a teacher myself and share this incredible ancient art with others. My practise supported me during treatment and recovery from cancer, so I have a special interest in designing classes that are accesible to everyone, whatever their current state of physical and mental health.
I am nourished by nature and experiencing the Vale of Glamorgan coast through swimming, paddle boarding, walking and yoga. Outdoor exercise supports the nervous and immune systems, strengthens our breathing organs and promotes mindfulness. I am looking forward to sharing these activities, which connect us to our natural environment, in partnership with other local groups.
